Rechargeable Batteries

NiCds, Lithium ion, sealed lead, Nickel metal hydride


The NYS Rechargeable Battery Recycling Act makes it illegal to knowingly dispose

of certain rechargeable, lithium ion, button and sealed lead batteries in the regular trash.


Take them to:

Home Depot, Lowe’s, Target, Staples, Walmart, or Wegman’s (for no charge)


Car, Boat, Lawn Mower Batteries (Lead acid)

 

Take to a scrap metal dealer for ($) or Pavilion accepts them.

 

Miscellaneous Items

Cell phones- return where you purchased it.

Packing peanuts- take clean ones to Mailboxes, UPS, Etc.

Syringes and Needles- call hospital to see if they accept them.

Items must be emptied, cleaned, and caps off (but recyclable). Labels acceptable.

Pavilion-Covington Recycling Program


Hours of Operation:


Saturday - 7:00 a.m – 12:00 p.m
(These hours are all year.)
Wednesday - 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
(These hours are from May 1st - November 30th.)
We encourage town residents to participate in our recycling program.

NOTE: WE DO NOT RECIEVE ANY PAYMENT FOR RECYCLING MATERIAL


The attendant on duty will assist you and has the right to refuse any recyclable product not in
compliance with the requirements set forth.
Laws regarding illegal roadside dumping will be strictly enforced and punishable with no less
than a $250.00 fine. If anyone has knowledge of violators, please contact one of the town
officials or board members. NO refuse deposit when the transfer station is closed.


TICKETS MAY BE PURCHASED FROM TOWN CLERK DURING NORMAL HOURS

OR AT THE REFUSE BUILDING WHEN OPEN

1 punch per 30 gallon garbage bag
2 punches per over sized garbage bag
4 punches per burn barrel
2 punches per large chair
4 punches per couch, box springs, mattress, etc.
1 punch per passenger tire, must be off rim
3 punches per truck tire, must be off rim
7 punches per refrigerators & freezer
15 punches per pick-up loads
